Winchester Model 1866 Lever Action Rifle Serial no. 28292, .44 rimfire, 24” octagon barrel with full magazine, excellent bright bore, a really clean gun, Barrel and magazine retain brown patina with generous blue in protected areas. Action bears mustard patina. Overall very nice., Loading gate retains about 25% original blue. Plain walnut buttstock and forend are very good with some old light finish added and numerous light handling marks. Right side of buttstock shows a cosmetic drying crack. Top tang shows two 1/8” holes spaced for conventional tang site along with threaded ¼” hole drilled perpendicular to barrel (probably for a lollipop tang peepsight).   Factory installed sling swivels.
