Unmarked, however, due to precise comparisons, it appears identical to marked Allen & Wheelock and Allen & Thurber pieces.
59” overall, iron barrel, approx. 12 gauge,
Barrel 43” long, octagonal at breech transitioning to round.
Iron forend, Walnut buttstock with a 2” grain crack.
Normal handling marks, Old refinish,
Ramrod looks to be original.
Workings of gun are very simple,
Probably early 1800’s,
Interesting example of gun over the fireplace & worth collecting as an example of such.

10 Gauge Belgian Double Barrel Percussion muzzle loader Shotgun
35” Damascus barrels w/ narrow band at breech.
“Twist” on top rib.
Barrels fastened by double wedges on walnut stock.
Wedge escutcheons and tailpipe are German silver.
Triggerguard & buttplate are steel.
Stock has checkered straight wrist in excellent condition with only minor scratches.
Metal is clean.
Original ramrod.

Break Action Single barrel shotgun

12 ga., 28” plain barrel, un-choked, very good bore.
Clean barrel w/ dark gray patina.
Top of barrel is marker marked “WM Lawrence Laconia N.H.”
Tall standing breech, rebated rear and two removable sideplates.
Gun breaks by actuating top mounted, vertically lifting top lever which is mounted on left side of hammer.
Frame has minor oxidation retaining approx. 50% original case colors.
Round knob pistol grip walnut buttstock is excellent.
Barrel is loose on frame vertically & laterally. Repairable,
Great example of scarce New Hampshire-made single barrel shotguns.

British percussion double shotgun
Bentley & Son,
12 ga., 31” barrels, excellent bores,
Damascus, inlaid bands at rib w/single bands & blowout plugs on the barrels and breeches. Silver inlay of hunter shooting waterfowl, Lock plates are maker marked w/ engraving.
Original ramrod w/ German silver.
Taeline features oval monogram plate of German silver.
Cap box with iron lid,
Excellent checkered walnut stock, few minor dings and dents from years of use.
Locks are crisp, hammers function well,
Joseph Bentley was in Liverpool from 1841 – 1873
A very nice weapon.

W. Ellis London manufactured side-by-side exposed hammer Damascus Shotgun
12 gauge, 27” barrels,
Good, lightly pitted bores choked Improved Modified in both tubes.
Jones patent underlever has mostly brown barrels with Damascus pattern only visible on underside protected by the forearm.
The frame and locks and hammers have nice tight scroll engraving.
Checkered walnut straight grip buttstock and forend have been professionally restored & look excellent.
Water table and barrels have British proofmarks.
Barrel rib marked “W. Ellis/ London” and “George Smith / New York”
Both locks marked “George Smith”.
Single bead sight, double triggers, double hammers.
Has 14” pull.
Excellent gun.

J. Manton British high quality exposed hammer side-by-side Damascus shotgun.
Serial no. 5687, 10 gauge,
30” barrels w/ some dents in tubes,
Bores bright with some specks of pitting,
Birmingham proofs has good deal of original Damascus pattern on barrels,
Finish is mostly gray / brown mix with receiver hammers, triggerguard & locks mostly silver gray with traces of mottled case color in protected areas.
Double triggers and hammers, single bead sight, extractors, and 13 ¾” length of pull.
Checkered walnut buttstock have been professionally restored to high gloss finish & recheckered.
Pretty gun.

Bores good, lightly pitted .745 & .752
Gray barrels with over 90% Damascus pattern showing and a few patches of light pitting.
Receiver has about 10% case color in protected areas.
Strong bird and scroll engraving,
Checkered walnut buttstock with pistol grip and forend restored with excellent skill.
Single bead skill, double triggers and extractors,

A.C. Bartlett Match Gun exposed hammer side-by-side Damascus shotgun
Serial no. 52828, 12 gauge, 30 ¼” Birmingham proofed barrels,
Bores mostly bright with some fine pitting,
Manfactured 1885 – 1887
Mostly gray patina w/ light specks of pinprick pitting,
The lock, receiver and hammers have scroll engraving.
Receiver has dog chasing a bird on both sides.
Buttplate is hard rubber w/ two trapshooters and is marked “match”.
Fine checkering on buttstock w/pistol grip forend are restored nicely.
Single bead sight.
14 ¼” length of pull.
Overall excellent.
