The Pennsylvania Kentucky Rifle by Henry J Kauffman
Wrist has repair. Large dual-strapped iron band atop the wrist, running to rear on both sides of comb.
There are four large screws and large rivet which goes completely through the comb and comes out on the bottom of the trigger guard - this repair is still sound. Right side of comb has carved “JM”. There is a 5” thin sliver of wood missing from forearm & a sliver missing from just below the lockplate. Original flint and lock are mechanically functional.
Miles had two contracts for these muskets – each for 2000 pieces.
Fine example of period musket.
