Round barrel, on top -
“Address Col. Saml Colt NY US America”
Mixed serial numbers: on barrel 13350,
on frame 13376, on trigger guard 13376,
on backstrap 10565.
Fitted for shoulder stock – 4 screws on frame and notch for s. strap on bottom of backstrap,
Barrel slightly pitted, otherwise good condition,
Inspector’s mark “T” on backstrap,
“S” on cylinder,
Includes shoulder stock which is reproduction.
Gun is original,
Case has lock & key

All numbers match, including wedge
.31 cal., 6" octagonal barrel with very good bore.
A nice, honest gun.
Barrel & loading lever have brown patina,
cylinder has smooth brown patina w/ 90% strong cylinder scene remaining,
frame is gray/brown w/faded case color on left
Some silver plating remains on rear strap & triggerguard.
Walnut grips excellent,
One of most used guns in Civil War

Metal is deep gray/brown patina,

On left side of frame over triggerguard "cal. Winchester 1873",
On lanyard hole, right side of gun "657".
This gun is extremely rare, produced for Wild West; the date 1879 was during the height of Dodge City infamy. Famous outlaws & sheriffs such as Billy the Kid, Wesley Hardin, Pat Garritt, Wild Bill Hickock, etc.  History books document Wyatt Earp left Dodge at this time and headed for Tombstone with his two brothers and Doc Holiday.
This is a "one of a kind" treasure!
This is a "Wow!" collector piece.

Retains approx. 65% of battle scene on cylinder, faintly inscribed
Purchased for the military & has inspector's letters on all pieces
Factory markings are very good,

1st model 1884 single action colt revolver ,
45 long cal., Serial no. 112606,
Exquisite engraving by Howard Dove includes even the screws, thin gold band around front and rear of barrel, 2 gold bands around rear of cylinder, gold band around hammer.
Engraved pattern is standard Colt  leaf and vine swirl with fan pattern on loading gate, (same on opposite side), stag handle.
This piece is accompanied by a letter from Colt stating the original shipping date was February 27, 1885 and the piece was returned to the factory in 1986 to be engraved.  A rare opportunity to own an extraordinary piece

1860 Colt, cut for shoulder stock, clear cartouche on right side of grip, all parts have inspectors numbers. excellent condition, untouched since battle use, serial number on barrel does not match numbers on other parts, this was true with guns in battle when parts were interchanged during the cleaning process, gun purchased by army
PROVENANCE: belonged to by Lt. William H.P, Stevens, 2nd Regiment R.I. volunteers, provenance from National Archives indicates Capt. Stevens (Calvary) was injured in battle, captured and sent South to a Confederate  prison, he was later paroled
