Colt Model 1873
.45 cal.
Called Model “P”, “Peace-Maker”, "hog’s leg", or frontier Colt.
Associated with Wyatt Earp, Wild Bill Hickock, etc.
Also called “The Gun that Won the West” as was the Winchester ’73.
Serial no. 14825. All numbers match, all original parts.
Excellent condition, gray blue patina. Beautiful stag grips, Totally unaltered.
Documentation available showing the gun was shipped to N.Y. in 1875.
One of the fastest shooting weapons of its day - delivered 5 shots in 2-3 seconds.
Similar weapons found at site of Custer’s last stand.
Mechanics function properly. Hard to find in this fine condition. A winner for any collector.
Cased in modern walnut case, lined in blue velvet, w/key and a reproduction of an officer’s belt buckle.
